In a statement, spokesperson of the school in a statement said D.P. Dhar Memorial Trust has been contributing continuously to uplift the society in Kashmir through not only academics but through arts and crafts also.
“After 18 years, the trust initiated the first art camp in 1996 in Srinagar and the chain has not broken since. The art camps are effective medium for the cultural exchange as well. We have had 22 art camps including National, International, Tribal, Local, and Sculpture and Student art camps. For the visiting international artists this is not only an opportunity to experience Kashmir, but also the opportunity to exchange experience and to share with the students of the school. Regular seminars and literary congregations are prominent features in our yearly schedule for spreading art awareness in the society,” the statement said.
The statement said the present International Spring Art Camp is designed and curated by Shama Sondhi and is sponsored by D.P. Dhar Memorial Trust under the patron-ship of Vijay Dhar, the chairman of the trust.
“Participating arts are from Ireland, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Nepal, Indonesia, Vietnam and India. The work from this art camp will be displayed on Wednesday at Delhi Public School, Athwajan. First Lady Usha Vohra will inaugurate the art exhibition,” it added.
