Lucknow’s Devanshu Tiwari and Aparna Singh were on cloud nine on Saturday after scoring a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 10 in the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 board examinations.
The success story of the students of Lucknow’s Rani Laxmi Bai Memorial Public School is similar to that of this year’s topper in the Joint Entrance Examination (Main).
They share striking similarities with Udaipur’s Kalpit Veerwal, the son of a compounder. Tiwari and Singh’s fathers are also compounders and both want to pursue a course in engineering to change the fortune of their families.
Unlike his friends, Tiwari did not have a lavish upbringing. The salary of his father, who works at a private clinic, aren’t enough to ensure all the comforts for his siblings.
“I have seen my parents struggling to manage the monthly budget at home. They cut down their expenses to ensure that I get whatever I want. I dedicate my marks to them for the struggle that they have done for me,” a happy and emotional Tiwari said.
His classmate Singh also has the same story to share – that of hardship and hard work.
“My parents always regret that they are not able to ensure a very lavish lifestyle for me due to our poor financial condition. The fact is that they are bringing me up like a princess and it is because of their love and confidence that I have been able to score a 10 CGPA,” Singh said.
School, CGPAs and family background are not all that are common between Tiwari and Singh – both of them share the same dream for their future and want to opt for physics, chemistry and mathematics in Class 12.
Nearly 1669 students appeared in the CBSE Class 10 exam from Rani Laxmi Bai Memorial Public School, out of which 667 scored a perfect 10.
